The book highlights the conceptual difference about
women in Islam and in the west by analysing that the
evils of Muslim Society stems from the gap between principle and practice, whereas the evils of western society are the result of a clash between principles and realities. Western civilization has formed principles independent of religious principles.
The status of Woman in Islamn is the same as that of
man. Injunctions about honour and respect enjoined
for one sex are enjoined equally for the other sex. So
far as rights in this world and rewards in the Hereafter
are concerned, there is no difference between the sexes. In the organization of daily living, both are equal
participants and partners. Yet Islam sees man as man
and woman as woman and, considering the natural
differences, it advocates the principle of the division of
labour between the two sexes rather than the equality
of labour.
